Lossing Faith In Love

when the biggest preacher 

stops believing in the power 

when the thoughts start making sense in the deepest hour

when love is nothing, just a wilted flower.

when it's not your strength, just a weakness 

when you realise love has its dark side, its secrets 

how do you not give up on love

when you know there's no hope of miracles from above,

how do you convince the heart, its only job is to pump the blood 

there isn't something precious in this world that deserves to be loved

the stories they said were all made up

it's time for you to escape the delusion and wake up 

there's no such thing as true love, it's all a facade 

don't trust in its existence, it's just a mirage 

now the words will start contradicting itself

despite their contradictions, there's a story in them that can only be felt.

I am not saying the existence of love is not true,

but the pain it brings makes you feel so blue.

the heartache, the tears, the shattered dreams,

the way even in silence your heart screams

now how do you believe in its power

when it comes with hidden thorns just like a flower

when the only option left is to give up 

will love rewrite its story, or is it time to close that chapter shut?
